The benefits

The Smartmicro UMRR-12 Type 48 radar is a 24 GHz radar sensor designed for traffic management applications requiring multi-lane and multi-object tracking.
It integrates 3D/UHD+ technology. The Type 48 antenna is optimized for long-range detection and wide horizontal angular coverage.

The sensor simultaneously measures range, radial velocity, horizontal and vertical angles, and reflectivity.
It can precisely determine the distance and speed of each target, and even distinguish multiple targets located at the same range but moving at different radial speeds — or vice versa.
The Smartmicro radar can detect fast, slow, and even stationary targets.

The UMRR-12 Type 48 radar thus enables the tracking of all vehicle trajectories within its field of view, which typically covers up to 12 lanes with a range of up to 300 meters.

With its long detection range, the radar can be used in urban and peri-urban environments alike.
It is also suitable for vulnerable road users, including cyclists, pedestrians, e-scooters, and skaters.
